I always think it is better for bigwigs to stay out of areas that are battered by storm or shaken by quakes. What can they do to make things better by flying over in a helecopter.

The answer is nothing. In fact they drain a bit of the resources away from rescue work by their security and transportation needs. -

Could it be that Bush had the sense to know this and stayed out of the limelight for this very reason?

Of course had he gone to visit the area there would have been catcalls and boos because of the drained resources.

Some people will find a reason to criticize Bush no matter what while others will find ways to defend him...

Katrina is a prove that our nation are not ready for a caos. Goverment should educate people how to act in a big case of emergency, how they can organize in different groups to support themselves in such situation.
